I cannot begin to express the gratitude I have for the Right at Home ministry and what it has provided me in the three years since I arrived in the United States from England. I was a stranger in a new country, and this ministry provided me with friends, a hope, and a completely new chapter in my life. Right at Home has shown me women who are entering a new season in their lives, a season where women evolve into mothers and couples change into families. I see women making life-long friendships, women developing a deep faith in Christ, women with a powerful sense of peace in their lives, and women who are caring and supportive of each other. Thank you to Right at Home for making a life-long impression on me and my family. – Susan L., Food Buyer, London, England

After going through the exercise you became tired and you really need a rest physically. I think sometimes that’s when you listen the most to what God has to say. When you are at rest and you are quiet. I look forward to coming each week because maybe I come with a certain burden on my mind or in my heart. And I leave there feeling like I can conquer anything. Jennifer P., College Volleyball Coach, Houston, TX.

This Bible study is really, really good. I might not be going to church regularly. But I will come to the Bible study.

We are all going through the same thing and just hearing how they work through them and giving each other ideas. It’s not just any idea. It’s Christian based ideas. The exercise gets me mentally ready for the Bible study. Laura L. NASA Engineer, Houston, TX.

Once I started coming here and made some friends that were in the same position I was (people who had given up the same thing I had given up). I realized I needed to refocus my entire life. Instead of depending on those external factors that I always depended on just to keep me going. When you’re home with two little ones it’s easier to look to God when you are alone with them and re-center your entire life, which I did. And, I think the biggest difference it’s made for me is that now I depend on God. I get everything I can from Him and it’s made me a happier person. Linda D.,  Attorney, Houston, TX.

God used Right at Home to call me back to relationship with Him. After I had my firstborn, I should have been ecstatic. I had everything I ever wanted…a beautiful daughter, loving husband and comfortable home. I was even living my dream of being a stay-at-home mom. Despite all of these blessings, I still felt myself slipping further into a depressed state of mind. I was lonely and I missed my job more than I had imagined. I was also completely overwhelmed with caring for my daughter. I will never forget the day my husband read me the advertisement for Right at Home in our neighborhood newsletter. It was about 5:30 in the afternoon and I was still in my pajamas. I was thrilled to know that there were women out there getting together for bible study and exercise who were in my same situation. The very first day I went I knew I had found a place to belong. I was SOLD when I began hearing the hearts of other women, what a relief to know I wasn't the only woman feeling the way I felt! Then, slowly, I began hearing the voice of God. He was speaking so tenderly to me and alluring me back into an intimate walk with Him. Wow! I didn't realize how far I had drifted away. It took some time, I needed to repent of a life lived with my back turned toward Him, but He was gracious. I was also able to use Right at Home as a way to share my faith. It is a gentle way to bring mother's into the church because Right at Home presents scripture study that is completely applicable to the life new moms are living. I moved about a year and a half later and have started a Right at Home group in my new home town. My prayer is that God will use me and this ministry to bring other mothers closer to Him and that they will feel the same since of community, love and acceptance that I felt in Houston. My whole family has been changed because of the message of this ministry! I would recommend any church to start this program. It will meet the needs of 'at home' mothers in their communities. – Debbie C. Teacher, Big Sping, TX.

Work was my art. It was my way of expressing who I was and what I was good at doing. When I left my career that specific venue no longer existed and I soon realized that much of my identity was grounded in my profession. In my mind I needed to quickly redefine myself not only as a woman , but also a mother. Right at Home gave me the tools to assist me through that transition. Through connecting with other Moms leaving the work force to serving other women in the community, I have gained back both personal confidence and purpose in my life. Beth F. National Account Manager, Minneapolis, MN.
